Whitley Warriors are pleased to announce that the accomplished blue liner Dan Harris has agreed to return to Hillheads after spending 2 years playing in the English Premier League with the Basingstoke Bison and Milton Keynes Lightning respectively.
Dan has made over 80 appearances during his time in the EPL picking up 11 assists along with 38 minutes of penalties which illustrates that he was a key member of the 2 sides he iced for. Dan also has experience of the Elite League as the young d man helped the Newcastle Vipers out on 4 occasions during the 2009/10 term.
That season was Dan’s best campaign statistically as he picked up 16 points for Whitley in their English National League season alongside contributing an assist at Elite League level. In total Dan made around 100 appearances for Warriors before moving into the English Premier League.
Warriors Coach Simon Leach shared his views on Whitley’s latest signing
“We are delighted to be able to welcome Dan back to Whitley Bay. He is an excellent signing for us
who boosts our defensive options.
“He has great experience from playing in the EPL for 2 years and we’ve been working hard to get him in.”
Simon then reflected on how Warriors recruitment was progressing on the whole
“We are not too far away now and I’m happy with the players we’ve got however I’m always looking to see if anyone else becomes available.”
Whitley are hopeful that a further announcement regarding their 2013/14 roster will be made this midweek.
