Whitley Warriors are pleased to announce that Kyle Ross has signed up for the 2018-19 season. 20-year-old Kyle first played for Warriors in 2013-14 after starting out at the Newcastle Vipers junior set up and moving to Whitley Tomahawks in 2010-11. Kyle moved to Canada in 2016 to improve his game, playing forty-two games for Norwood Nemesis and Essa Stallions of the Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League, scoring thirty-three points on the way. He returned to the UK last season and appeared thirty-seven times for Warriors.
Kyle spoke of his pleasure at being asked to return: “It’s always a good feeling when you get a text from Lobby asking you to come back so I couldn’t turn down the offer to play. I have been training all summer so hopefully it pays off. I can’t wait to get the season started and see what’s in store for the team.”
Meanwhile, forward Harry Harley has left Whitley Warriors and has signed for Hull Pirates. The former GB Under-18 started his senior hockey career with Warriors in 2011-12 and iced for Peterborough Phantoms before returning to Whitley in 2013-14. We wish Harry well and we hope to see him back in the maroon and gold one day.
