Whitley Warriors can confirm that they will be taking on the Kirkcaldy Kestrels away from home on Saturday the 23rd of August as Warriors prepare for the 2014/15 campaign. This game is a one off contest to aid Whitley’s pre season preparations with no return leg scheduled to be played on North Tyneside.
Kirkcaldy play in the Scottish National League and finished 2nd in the table last season just missing out on the title to the Edinburgh SNL Capitals after the 2 sides finished level on points over the 19 game season north of the border.
Kestrels play out of the Fife Arena in Kirkcaldy which is also home to the Fife Flyers (who Warriors used to play against in the Northern League set up). The Kestrels look to have a strong roster of players who will be able to give Warriors an extremely competitive game as Simon Leach’s side look to get into shape ahead of the up coming campaign of action.
Warriors now have 2 warm up games pencilled in during late August as the weekend after the Kirkcaldy game Whitley take on the Aberdeen Lynx on home ice. Warriors NIHL North fixtures are expected to get underway in early to mid September
