Whitley Warriors played their last league game of the 2014/15 season on Sunday evening when their local rivals the Billingham travelled up to Tyneside for a NIHL North Division 1 encounter. Whitley started the game positively and took the lead 4 minutes into proceedings when Callum Watson used his speed to get away from the Stars defence and then fired a sweet shot past Mark Watson in the visitor’s goal.

Whitley Warriors can confirm that they will be taking on the Widnes Wild in the promotion/relegation play off at the end of the 2014/15 campaign. The games will take place over the weekend of the 11th/12th of April with Widnes at home on the Saturday (face off tbc) and Whitley at home on the Sunday (face off 5pm).
Whitley Warriors picked up a victory on Saturday evening when Simon Leach’s side beat the Manchester by 8 goals to 1 in the north west. Veteran blue liner Paul Matthews was back on Warriors roster after a lengthy spell out of action due to an ankle injury however Rob Wilson and Callum Watson both missed the contest with Minotaurs.
