Whitley Warriors young forward Callum Queenan is heading for Estonia where he will represent GB under 18’s in Division 2 Group A of the World Championships at their age group level. Joining Callum in the British squad is Warriors Head Coach Simon Leach who is assistant coach to Martin Grubb at national team level.
Warriors took on the Solway Sharks on Sunday evening in Whitley Bay. Simon Leach’s side were without d man Rob Wilson who was unavailable while the in form forward Dean Holland had to miss the game as he picked up a hand injury during Warriors game with the Manchester Minotaurs on Saturday evening.

Whitley Warriors can confirm that they will be taking on the Widnes Wild in the promotion/relegation play off at the end of the 2014/15 campaign. The games will take place over the weekend of the 11th/12th of April with Widnes at home on the Saturday (face off tbc) and Whitley at home on the Sunday (face off 5pm).
Whitley Warriors picked up a victory on Saturday evening when Simon Leach’s side beat the Manchester by 8 goals to 1 in the north west. Veteran blue liner Paul Matthews was back on Warriors roster after a lengthy spell out of action due to an ankle injury however Rob Wilson and Callum Watson both missed the contest with Minotaurs.

Whitley Warriors invite sports fans from around the region to ‘Join the Tribe’ on Sunday evening when Warriors face off against the Solway Sharks in a NIHL North Division 1 match up on home ice at Hillheads Ice Rink in Whitley Bay, Tyneside.
On Sunday evening Warriors made the short journey down the A19 to take on the Billingham Stars in a passionate local derby. Michael Elder had opened the scoring for the home side 4 minutes into the contest when he fired past Mark Turnbull in the Whitley net however the scores were soon level though as Dean Holland equalised three minutes later with a powerful slapshot.
Whitley Warriors travelled across the border to face the Solway Sharks in Dumfries on Saturday evening. Warriors were captained by Jamie Tinsley who came back into the side after missing Whitley’s last match up. Whitley were without 3 experienced players though as senior goaltender Richie Lawson, veteran d man Paul Matthews and power forward Jordan Barnes were all unable to ice due to injuries.
Warriors were without a fixture during the last week however Whitley are in action on 2 occasions next weekend when Simon Leach’s side take on the Solway Sharks and Billingham Stars away from home in NIHL North Division 1 action.
