Whitley Warriors young forward Callum Queenan was part of the GB under 18’s squad that claimed the bronze medal in Division 2 A of the World Championships in Tallinn, Estonia last recently.
Whitley Warriors played their last league game of the 2014/15 season on Sunday evening when their local rivals the Billingham travelled up to Tyneside for a NIHL North Division 1 encounter. Whitley started the game positively and took the lead 4 minutes into proceedings when Callum Watson used his speed to get away from the Stars defence and then fired a sweet shot past Mark Watson in the visitor’s goal.
Whitley Warriors play their last regular season game of the 2014/15 season this weekend when their local rivals the Billingham Stars make the short journey up the A19 to Tyneside. Warriors are without Callum Queenan who is away on GB under 18 duty and Dean Holland who is unable to play due to a hand injury he suffered in last weekend’s victory over the Manchester Minotaurs.

Joining Callum in the British squad is Warriors Head Coach Simon Leach who is assistant coach to Martin Grubb at national team level.
Warriors took on the Solway Sharks on Sunday evening in Whitley Bay. Simon Leach’s side were without d man Rob Wilson who was unavailable while the in form forward Dean Holland had to miss the game as he picked up a hand injury during Warriors game with the Manchester Minotaurs on Saturday evening.

Whitley Warriors can confirm that they will be taking on the Widnes Wild in the promotion/relegation play off at the end of the 2014/15 campaign. The games will take place over the weekend of the 11th/12th of April with Widnes at home on the Saturday (face off tbc) and Whitley at home on the Sunday (face off 5pm).

Veteran blue liner Paul Matthews was back on Warriors roster after a lengthy spell out of action due to an ankle injury however Rob Wilson and Callum Watson both missed the contest with Minotaurs.
