Warriors face Telford in season opener before taking on Billingham at home

The fixtures for NIHL North Moralee Conference have been announced and Warriors’ first competitive game of the 2013/14 campaign will be an away fixture against Telford Titans on the 7th September. Whitley’s first home game of the NIHL campaign is the following weekend when Warriors take on local rivals Billingham Stars at Hillheads on Sunday 15th of September. Other noteworthy fixtures include a home clash with NIHL North champions Solway Sharks on the 5th of January which happens to be the first Warriors home game of 2014. Warriors to face Solway Sharks in Pre Season

Whitley Warriors are pleased to announce that they will take on the NIHL North Division 1 Champions Solway Sharks in two pre-season games. The first game between Warriors and Sharks will take place on the 31st August at Solway’s Dumfries Ice Bowl with Whitley hosting Martin Grubbs’ side the following evening at Hillheads. DJ Good named as Warriors captain while coach Leach joins GB set-up

Whitley Warriors Coach Simon Leach has confirmed that Warriors’ long-serving forward Daniel Good will be the clubs captain for the coming season. This will be DJ’s second season as Warriors skipper, as the popular forward also led Whitley during the 2012-13 campaign after being appointed by former coach Garry Dowd last summer. DJ recorded over 40 points last season, averaging better than a point per game as Whitley finished 5th in NIHL North Division 1. Simon Leach named Great Britain Under-18s assistant coach

Whitley Warriors head coach Simon Leach has been appointed Great Britain Under-18 assistant coach, with Solway Sharks’ Martin Grubb being named head coach.
